Veterinary Laboratory

In response to societal needs and with the aim of accelerating laboratory diagnosis and increasing confidence in the detection of viral diseases in aquatic animals (fish and shrimp), this laboratory uses advanced molecular biology equipment and has the capability to detect and test zoonotic bacteria (shared between humans and animals). Its capabilities also include microbiological assessment of water, measurement of mycotoxins, detection of antibiotic residues in fish and shrimp, identification of unauthorized dyes such as malachite green, leucomalachite green, crystal violet, and leucocrystal violet, histamine determination, measurement of heavy metals in aquatic organisms, aquaculture feed, and raw animal products, as well as determination of protein, TVN, fat, and ash content in food products and aquatic organisms through physicochemical testing.
